Performance Testing & Screening in Ahmedabad

Objective strength, power, symmetry and return-to-sport testing — so the decision to clear you is based on measured evidence rather than how confident you feel on the day.

Quick Answer

What is performance testing and screening, and why does it matter?

Performance testing and screening is a standardised battery of strength, hop, power and control tests used to decide objectively whether an athlete is ready to return to sport — or to establish a physical baseline before a season begins.

It matters because pain disappears long before strength returns. Athletes cleared on symptoms alone often go back carrying strength deficits of twenty per cent or more, and that gap is where second injuries happen. Strivon runs performance testing and screening on identical protocols each time, so results genuinely compare across months, and every failed criterion becomes a training target.

  • Session length: 75–90 minutes
  • Reported as limb symmetry index per test, with pass or fail per criterion
  • Written report you can share with your coach or surgeon
Overview

“You Feel Ready” Is Not A Clearance Criterion

The most dangerous moment in any recovery is the week you stop hurting. Pain disappears long before strength returns, and athletes cleared on symptoms alone routinely go back carrying strength deficits of twenty per cent or more on the injured side. That gap is where second injuries live.

Performance testing and screening replaces that guesswork with numbers. We measure strength limb by limb, test explosive capacity through a hop battery, examine movement quality under fatigue, and compare everything against your uninjured side and the demands of your sport.

It is the quality-control layer of our sports physiotherapy in Ahmedabad service — and it is also genuinely useful before you are ever injured, as a pre-season risk screen.

What Is Included

What Gets Measured

A structured battery, repeated identically each time so results are comparable across months.

💪

Isolated Strength Testing

Limb-by-limb measurement of the key muscle groups relevant to your injury and sport, expressed as a limb symmetry index.

🧝

Hop & Jump Battery

Single hop, triple hop, crossover hop and timed hop tests — the standard functional battery used in return-to-sport decision making worldwide.

Power & Explosiveness

Countermovement jump and reactive strength measures to confirm your ability to produce force quickly, not just slowly.

Symmetry & Balance

Single-leg balance, control and landing mechanics assessed under both fresh and fatigued conditions.

🏃

Sport-Specific Capacity

Repeated sprint ability, change of direction, and where relevant overhead or contact tolerance tests matched to your actual sport.

📋

Written Test Report

A documented report with your scores, benchmarks, pass or fail status per criterion, and clear next steps. Shareable with your coach or surgeon.

The Process

How A Testing Session Works

Step 1 — Pre-Test Screening

Health check, injury status review and standardised warm-up so results are valid and safe.

Step 2 — The Test Battery

Roughly 75 to 90 minutes working through strength, hop, power and sport-specific tests in a fixed order.

Step 3 — Analysis

Scores compared against your uninjured side, against your own previous results, and against published return-to-sport thresholds.

Step 4 — Debrief

We sit down and walk through every number with you, including what each one means for your clearance and your risk.

Step 5 — Action Plan

Failed criteria become the targets of your next training block. Passed criteria become the baseline you must maintain.

Who It Is For

Who Should Be Tested

Testing is valuable at three moments: before a season, during rehabilitation, and immediately before returning to competition. Most re-injuries we see could have been predicted by a test that was never done.

  • Athletes approaching return to sport after injury
  • Post-ACL reconstruction patients at 6, 9 and 12 months
  • Squads undergoing pre-season screening
  • Athletes who have re-injured the same area before
  • Runners preparing for a marathon block
  • Athletes whose performance has plateaued
  • Youth athletes tracking development through growth
  • Anyone who wants a physical baseline before training hard

Why Strivon

Testing Is Only Useful If It Is Consistent

A number is meaningless in isolation. Its value comes from being repeated under identical conditions so change can be trusted. We standardise warm-up, equipment, order and instructions on every single test session, which is why our results are comparable month after month.

Testing at Strivon also connects directly to action. A failed criterion goes straight into your strength and conditioning block, so the report never becomes a document that simply sits in a folder.

  • Standardised, repeatable protocols on every session
  • Limb symmetry index reported for every relevant test
  • Written report you can share with coaches and surgeons
  • Failed criteria converted into a training block immediately
  • Group and squad screening available for teams

Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I be tested after an ACL reconstruction?

The common schedule is around six months, nine months and twelve months, with additional checkpoints if progress is slow. Most published return-to-sport criteria require a limb symmetry index above ninety per cent across a hop battery plus adequate quadriceps strength, and very few athletes reach that at six months.

Can you test me if I was rehabilitated somewhere else?

Yes, and we do this regularly. Standalone testing is available even if your rehabilitation was managed by another clinic or in another city. You receive the same full report and debrief, and we will tell you honestly whether you are ready.

Is testing painful or risky?

The battery is demanding but safe when applied at the right stage. We screen before testing and will postpone or modify any test that is inappropriate for your current phase. Nobody is put through a hop battery they are not ready to attempt.

Do you screen entire teams?

Yes. Pre-season squad screening is one of the most efficient uses of this service. We test the full squad, produce individual profiles plus a team overview, and flag athletes carrying elevated risk so training can be adjusted before the season starts.

What if I fail the tests?

Then the testing did its job. A failed criterion is far better discovered on a testing floor than in the eightieth minute of a match. We convert every failed measure into a specific training target and retest after the block.
